What to expect for Blockchain and Bitcoin in 2020 and the coming decade?

Last year the crypto community celebrated the 10th anniversary of Bitcoin creation. Now we are entering a new decade and many crypto enthusiasts are wondering what will happen with Bitcoin and other cryptos in 2020?

In 2019 various countries including UAE, Japan, Sweden, Russia, Estonia, and France have stated plans for their own regulated state-issued digital currencies. We may see these plans come true this year which will lead to the mass adoption of digital currencies.

The next big thing to take place this year is Bitcoin halving. We have already explained what halving is and what to expect from it in one of our previous articles, so we will not go over it here.

Leading blockchain and crypto experts and entrepreneurs also have high anticipations for Bitcoin and altcoins for the coming year.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has mentioned in his recent Medium article that he expects Blockchain to reach about 1B users by the end of the decade. By the end of the decade, most tech startups will have a crypto component, just like most tech startups use the internet and machine learning today. Governments and institutions will move into the cryptocurrency space in a big way as well.

Another crypto leader Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, Founder and CEO of Binance, thinks that blockchain will have a bigger impact on society than the internet. The industry will get bigger — and when the industry gets bigger, the price will go higher. He is also seeing an increasing amount of interest from institutional players, which also indicates a more bullish market in 2020.

As you can see, there are various prerequisites for Bitcoin and Blockchain technology to develop and get massive adoption in the up-coming years.
